DESCRIPTION

*** Auction Selling Time For This Lot is Saturday 2:25 PM ***

This sporty 1970 Cuda 383 convertible demonstrates the Plymouth approach to endowing a high-performance car with luxury and style. With a complete nut-and-bolt restoration completed in 2005, the car is in as-original condition throughout. The Arctic White exterior and attractive Red interior trim present a classic convertible look that is also quite rare; only 19 Cuda convertibles received the Red interior. The twin-scooped optional Sport Hood wears “cuda383” callouts and is held in place with optional hood tie-down pins. Fender-mounted turn signal lights, chrome-tipped dual exhaust and bright wheelwell moldings finish the look.

The interior almost demands that the car always be driven with the top down. Unlike most interior schemes which limit bright colors to the role of accent, this one is all Red, all the time. Wood-grained trim adorns the instrument panel, which incorporates the popular Rallye Instrument Cluster Accessory Group option and includes a switch for the power-operated top.

With the numbers-matching 335 horsepower 383 under the hood, there is real power on tap, moving through a rare correct date-coded column-shifted A727 Torqueflite automatic, one of only 132 installed in the 1970 convertible Cuda.

A numbers matching car listed in the Chrysler Registry, this is a nicely-outfitted big block ‘Cuda convertible that successfully marries top-of-the-line performance with top-down style.
