DESCRIPTION

*** Auction Selling Time For This Lot is Saturday 5:25 PM ***

This spectacular 1969 Dodge Daytona is number 191 of 503 built by the factory, based on the XX29 Code Charger. Purchased new from Skyline Dodge in Denver, Colorado, it was stored for more than twenty years in a Nebraska restoration shop before receiving its own rotisserie restoration, which was completed in 2004. The Daytona’s body is in beautiful as-original condition and features the towering rear wing and air-slicing nose for which these cars and their Superbird brethren are famous. The factory-correct Hemi Orange finish is completed with the black “Daytona” tailstripe and black rear panel.

Like all Daytonas, the car is equipped with heavy duty suspension and brakes. It is also fitted with the optional F70-14 Red Streak tires mounted on chromed Magnum-style wheels. Inside, the black vinyl interior includes bucket seats with head restraints, center console, Rally tach and clock and wood-rimmed steering wheel.

The correct date-coded 375HP 440 Magnum engine features a Carter AVS four-barrel carburetor, 10:1 forged pistons and high-flow exhaust, and is mated to the Hemi-rated A727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. The limited-slip Sure-Grip rear end carries a 3.55:1 gearset. The Daytona’s underside is as skillfully restored and expertly finished as the rest of car. The emphasis throughout is on originality in every detail, and a close inspection reveals faithful adherence to the codes on the original fender tag.

This car is accompanied by photo documentation of the restoration.
