This car is one of the most highly documented, extremely low mileage, one previous owner cars out there-- rare for any 69 Corvette, much less an L88!!. It retains its original born-with engine, transmission, carburetor, and interior (leather) with only 2248 actual documented miles. The car runs and drives as new. The car received an ultra high quality restoration in 2005-early 2006 and has since received Bloomington Gold Certification, NCRS National Top Flight, Gold Spinner Award, and the Triple Crown Award with all scores at 97, 98, or 99.

The car was sold new at Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet, Roselle, IL, December 12, 1969, to Dennis Ahrens who immediately prepared it to be a drag racer, achieving a best time of 10.82 seconds in the quarter mile. Many of the car’s original parts, including the engine, were set aside to be later reunited with the car by the original owner.

Today it sits on 3 of the 4 original tires with a spare tire that has never been mounted. It is believed to be one of the last three L88s ever produced. This is the only known L88 with red exterior and tan interior. It is believed to be one of only 25 delivered with a 4.56 positraction rear axle.
